    When creating a public tournament. you can decide whether you want to keep it open (anyone with the registration link and passcode can join) or restricted.

    In this article, we’ll see how to create RESTRICTED tournaments. In the third step of tournament creation, enable the “Restricted” option, and create the tournament, as shown below:

    In case of a restricted tournament, you have to enter the list of players you want to invite to the tournament. You have to enter their details in the following format: first name, last name, email, and FIDE rating (leave blank if a player does not have FIDE rating).

    Below is an example:

    After creating the tournament, go to the “Details” tab and you’ll find the registration URL to the tournament.

    Share this URL (along with the passcode) with the players who you want to join the tournament.

    Below is an example of how the registration page will look like:

    Players have to enter their email (that you have entered when creating the tournament) and the passcode (which you set when creating the tournament) to join the tournament,

    Below is an example of how the player can enter his details and “Join” the tournament:

    If a player has entered an incorrect email address or passcode, he or she will see the following error message:

    You, as an organizer/coach, can see the players who have joined in the “Players” tab:
